Mystery Object #5

Hey, girls! Jeff gave us some more mystery objects!

This is something that at least six Expedition members might have packed in their knapsack or possible bag. They would have used it to help complete an assignment given to them by President Jefferson. Do you know what it might be?

  3. Mrs. Wilensky's nephew, Ethan, thinks that the object is a holder which contains pens and an inkwell. They would need this to record their findings, no photographs were available.

  15. Answer: This is a writing kit. It included a small ink bottle and two quills for making entries in their journals (or notes to remind themselves what to write about later). The hard metal case would protect what was inside while they were in the field.
