Mystery Object #4
This was used by the blacksmiths. What do you think it is, and how was it used?
I think it is a smoke blower, and I think that it was used for cooling the iron so that the blacksmiths could work on a different part of their creation.
I think it is something that blows air on the thing the black smith is working on and I think you push on the top and it blows air out of the front. Lindsay
It IS a bellows. As we saw today, it was a good way to pump a lot of air into a fire for the blacksmiths to use. Does anyone remember how many degrees the blacksmiths needed their fire to be?
In our house in Colorado we have one of those things in the living room. My cousin and I love to push down the thingy and blow wind at each other. Riley

ReplyDeleteI think it is a bellows that the black smith used to control the fire so that he could cool or heat up something so it would be just right.

I think it was something you use to keep a fire going, and when you pushed on the round part it would blow air on the fire.
