Map of the Day

Here's a link to the map of where we walked today. What you SHOULD see is a map with pictures along the way. I've been messing with it for over an hour, and I can't get the pictures to load in the right order or right side up! So, you can turn sideways to see what we saw today! :) In the bottom right-hand corner of the map there is a "slide show" icon. I've never used this on Blogger, so hopefully it will work!

  3. Are there items on display as to what the Blacksmiths made? Did they use ore from the region and make their own iron/metal? AB

    1. Yes, there are some things on display in the fort here at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Jeff said that a 4 inch piece of metal would be able to be traded for about 8 gallons of shelled corn. He also said that they brought a minimum (400 pounds) of raw sheet iron.

    2. Wow, that was a lot of weight to carry all that distance. Did they trade the metal to Indians for the corn? If you have time to take pictures of some of their other smithing tools, that would be neat. Were they in the location where you are long enough to grow some of their own food? If so, what did they grow?
